If the State Senator Really Cared about Concerns of Parents and Teachers in Our Public Schools, Why Did He Stay Home?
RALEIGH—State Sen. Neal Hunt failed to show up today at the teacher walk-in at Lacy Elementary in Raleigh, shying away from Progress NC’s challenge. Progress NC released the following statement in response:
“Today was an opportunity for teachers, parents and the community to have a meaningful dialogue about public education in North Carolina. It’s unfortunate Neal Hunt showed more interested in criticizing parents and teachers from a distance, and less interested in showing up to hear real concerns.
“His failure to even show up for the teacher walk-in proves he won’t defend or debate his harmful education budget. If Hunt actually cared about public schools he would at least listen to teachers in his district.”
