State Leaders Say There Is "No Good Case" For Medicaid Expansion

Apparently Senate Leader Berger and the new Speaker of the House, Rep. Moore, don't think that creating 43,000 jobs by 2020 is a good enough reason to expand Medicaid. In a press conference on the first day of session, Senator Berger said, "There is in my view no good case that can be made that Medicaid expansion is the right thing for us to do in North Carolina.” Rep. Moore echoed Berger's sentiments saying, “I just don’t see that as a good long-term play for us to make.”
