I just can’t fathom people knowing how the family separations at the border – it’s a way to disincentivise immigration, but it’s causing mass separations among children from their families. 545 of the kids separated from their families, they couldn’t find their parents. So my voting is based on human rights. Accessibility to higher ed is something else that’s really important to me. I don’t want lack of income to affect your ability to get a higher education. There’s latinx youth that are breadwinners for their families. They’re full time breadwinners for their family – as a high school student. And not just higher ed, but public education is important too. That is something that my vote counts for.
